I wrote a review before but it somehow didn't post.Please read the whole review because it turns out the pros far outweighed the cons, but I'll give all the details :)The bag arrived and I was immediately stunned by how beautiful, rugged, and well-packaged it was. I was so excited. The size was perfect, too, as he is 6'1" tall and 200lbs, and I didn't want a bag that would look small or feminine compared to his size. This bag is large and looks great on him. I was also stunned by the smell. The other reviewers complained of a smell, and I thought, it's leather, it'll smell, duh! The thing is, when it arrives, it doesn't smell like walking into a leather shop -that rich, well-treated, aged leather smell- it smells more like fresher cowhide. Very strong, not nearly as pleasant. HOWEVER, I read that it should be aired out in the sun to solve this problem. I also read about baking soda, but white powdery stuff in all the creases isn't something I was ready to do. Every day for 2 weeks (before I gifted it to my husband), I hung it up outside in the sun when I went to work and took it in in the evening. Now it smells normally, and my husband put his nose up to it and sniffed when he opened it, and said it smelled nice. He didn't complain once about an odor. I am told now that the smell isn't strong and is more pleasant, there is also a rub you can get at leather shops that makes it smell even better. The inside of the bag is very strong and rigged and the stitching is good. He even said to me, "Omigosh, you must have paid at least $300 for this!" Wemre both VERY happy with this bag. What a deal. :)
